Just push it - Motor protection of the next generation

The screwless Push-in Spring connection technology for motor starting solutions is available for motor protection (manual motor starter) MS132 up to 32 A and for AF contactors up to 18.5 kW / 400 V as well as for the respective accessories, for example auxiliary contacts and connection kits for setting up reversing and star-delta starters.
The Push-in Spring terminals allow connecting rigrid wires and wires with ferrules without tools. In addition, small cable cross section or cable without ferrules can also be connected by opening the terminals uniformly with a standard screwdriver in 3 mm fin width. To disconnect cables, the screwdriver is also required to open the terminal. The Push-in Spring terminals are vibration-resistant, maintenance-free and allow automated wiring. Devices of both connection types are compatible with one another: Push-in Spring auxiliary contacts can also be used for main devices with screw technology.

Optimized molded case circuit breaker

ABB has expanded the range of molded case circuit breakers with the new Tmax XT. The series combines extremely high breaking capacities and excellent protective properties with extremely precise measurement and connectivity functions. The Tmax XT is suitable for demanding applications from 160 to 1,600 A. In conjunction with electronic triggers of the smallest sizes, it guarantees uninterrupted operation and protects the plant investments made. Thanks to the integrated connectivity, the status and performance data of the molded case circuit breakers are transferred to the ABB Ability Cloud platform and can be called up in real time via smartphone, tablet or PC. The intelligent overcurrent protection releases can reduce energy consumption by up to 20%. All sizes have the same logic, the same functions and the same intuitive interface, which saves considerable time during installation.

Innovative and ergonimic machine control

Safeball consists of a spherical ball containing two embedded pushbutton switches, one on each side of the ball. To be able to start and operate a machine both buttons must be activated. The risk of unintentional activation is thereby minimized and the device is simple and ergonomic to use.

It can be utilised for either one-hand or two-hand applications. For a two-hand control device the operator needs to have a Safeball for each hand to be able to operate a machine. If one or more pushbuttons are released a stop signal is given to the machine.

Protection by locking

The Eden OSSD is a coded, contactless locking device that communicates via OSSD output signals. The sensor can thus be connected to all safety relays and other safety modules that are able to process OSSD signals. These include the device types RT6, RT7, RT9, Pluto and AC500-S from the ABB range. Since the Eden OSSD displays detailed information, troubleshooting is easier and downtimes are reduced. The large switching distance increases the tolerance to oscillations and vibrations and minimizes the risk of unintentional stops. Thanks to IP69K protection as standard and a wide operating temperature range, Eden OSSD can also be used in extreme environments.
