Together with the 14th Bondexpo international trade fair for bonding technologies, the 39th Motek international trade fair for automation in production and assembly will launch the new year full steam ahead and is preparing the second edition of the integrative theme park Arena of Integration (AoI). Participating companies will meet at the beginning of February 2020 for a kick-off at the ICS Stuttgart in order to expand upon previously initiated collaborations. As a Motek highlight, the AoI will continue to implement connectivity in actual practice in the new year.
Maintaining one’s competitive edge is more important than ever before. In particular in times of sluggish economic activity, industrial users are looking for automation solutions that can be implemented in actual practice in order to be able to efficiently, economically and sustainably execute their respective production tasks. In cooperation with the Mechatronics Network of Baden-Württemberg, trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG have pointed out the direction in which industrial manufacturing processes are headed: digitalisation necessitates networking, holistic engineering and cooperative project implementation. With its 34 practical use cases, the AoI was a unanimously recognised milestone at Motek 2019 because participating companies worked closely together to present networked industry 4.0 solutions in a practical, hands-on manner and provided concrete answers to current questions concerning intelligent production and process sequences in connection with digital applications.
Arena of Integration: Local Networking, Global Customer Benefits
Thomas Bonschab, Managing Director of TiNC International GmbH, noted in 2019: “The Arena of Integration is the best example of the fact that German technology companies are above all global leaders when they connect and team up with each other. What we’re experiencing at the Arena isn’t merely a unique and innovative approach to trade fair design. At the same time it’s the key to how Germany’s mid-sized ‘hidden champions’ will be able to position themselves internationally in the future. Dr. Kurt Schmalz, managing shareholder of J. Schmalz GmbH, observed: “With their new concept, trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG are providing visitors with the opportunity of gathering information regarding the various aspects of digitalisation in a compact format.” The AoI has met with broad-based approval and enthusiasm from the expert visitors and other guests including foreign delegations and representatives from politics. Statements in the form of text and video clips are available at www.arena-of-integration.de and www.motek-messe.de.
Networking Exploits Complementary Competence
Companies participating in the AoI underscore their worldwide importance by demonstrating that they’re connected and collaborate with automation partners in order to develop practically feasible solutions for everyday industrial use for customers and users. AoI participants benefit customers as well as each other by means of this cooperation because it generates concrete, directly marketable results. The networking platform offers assistance in mastering the multifaceted challenges involved with the digitalisation of business processes. Within this context, the world’s leading trade fair for automation in production and assembly set a benchmark in 2019 with the AoI concept: establishing networks amongst players with complementary competencies and progressive solution concepts is the key to successful innovation.
Arena of Communication: Communication via Networks
Smart solutions for production and assembly – this will be the primary emphasis of Motek in the upcoming year as well. Highly practical networking of various topics and realistic process flows which can’t be found anywhere else in such an all embracing format are presented here to the expert visitors. The Motek/Bondexpo trade fair duo is traditionally a user-oriented working event and thus further develops the AoI concept – where communication is involved as well. Already in 2019, speakers and interested parties were provided with an ideal communication platform for exchanging ideas and transferring know-how at the Arena of Communication (AoC). The AoC will function as a central information, communication and business platform in 2020 with content covering the Motek/Bondexpo trade fair duo, the AoI and use cases, as well as statements and interviews.
AoI 2020 participants are welcome to attend the kick-off meeting at the beginning of February at ICS Stuttgart. Further information is available from Rainer Färber (r.faerber(at)mechatronik-ev.de). The next Motek/Bondexpo industry event, flanked by the second edition of the integrative AoI theme park, will take place from the 5th through the 8th of October, 2020.
