Special Press Release: Motek/Bondexpo 2020 Ready to Go

Together with the 14th Bondexpo international trade fair for bonding technologies, the 39th Motek international trade fair for automation in production and assembly is gearing up for take-off. Digitalisation will be one of the key issues of the industry highlight from 5 to 8 October 2020, and startup companies will also be provided with a special platform. An implementation concept is currently being worked out in close cooperation amongst the responsible authorities, venue operator Messe Stuttgart and trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG, in order to comply with all of the requirements resulting from the corona pandemic.

With the declaration of intent issued by the state government of Baden-Württemberg on 23 June 2020, which states that trade fairs with more than 1000 participating persons will once again be permitted as of the 1st of September, trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG and their project team for organising Motek/Bondexpo 2020 will switch from the compulsory waiting mode to the aggressive implementation mode. On the basis of the most recent decisions made by Germany’s federal and state governments, as well as stipulations issued by the health and public order authorities who have now assumed direct responsibility, trade fair promoter Schall is in close contact with the operators of Messe Stuttgart in order to be able to hold Motek/Bondexpo 2020 in compliance with the specified hygiene, distancing and safety rules.

Mandatory Wait-and-See Due to Official Requirements

Baden-Württemberg’s Ministry of Economics and Ministry of Social Affairs have prepared hygiene rules for trade fairs which serve as a benchmark for further planning on the part of trade fair facility operators and trade fair promoters. “Our trade fair venues already provide high levels of controllability. They’re already well prepared. For example by means of access control with registration by name, limitation of the number of participants, visitor flow control relative to the size of the room or hall and ventilation concepts for indoor areas,” explained Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Economic Affairs. The number of visitors who attend big trade fairs should be viewed in a differentiated manner because not all visitors attend the event at the same time. On the contrary, visitor flow is distributed over any given trade fair day, as well as over the entire duration of the event, thus making controlled management readily possible. Coordinated amongst the responsible authorities, venue operator Messe Stuttgart and trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG, an implementation concept is being developed which will be submitted for approval in just a few days. In this way, the trade fair promoter hopes to be able to give exhibitors and cooperation partners the go-ahead for Motek/Bondexpo 2020 no later than the end of July 2020.

The Goal Remains Unchanged: Smart Solutions for Production and Assembly

For roughly 5 months now, the corona pandemic has held the entire world in a wait-and-see crisis mode. And thus all the more this year, the well-established annual industry event comprising Motek and Bondexpo is being awaited with special anticipation as the leading trade fair in the field of automation. In particular in times of difficult economic conditions, industrial users need effectively implementable and economical automation solutions. Motek’s portfolio of products and services, including components, assemblies, subsystems and complete machines for automated production and assembly, is targeted at consistently automated production with flexible lot quantities. The internationally recognised information, communication and business platform presents complete solutions aligned to industrial practice with networked technology and communications. Joining technology is a basic constituent of industrial production and the complementary Bondexpo trade fair is a time-tested supplement to the industry meet in Stuttgart held regularly once a year. A fresh breeze and new approaches to smart solutions for production and assembly will be offered by startups this year, who will present their developments, solutions and services to expert visitors in a Startup Area set up specifically for this purpose.
