The new family of integrated linear shaft motors has been specially developed for the realization of the vertical Z-function and features high-energy magnets for more power in the mid-range combined with a very compact and efficient counterweight (patent pending). The motor unit does not fall off when de-energized, thanks to its new and revolutionary counterweight solution.
The linear motor unit has almost no magnetic leakage fluxes, which allows applications with a distance of only 9mm.
In order to realize even cost-effective design, this scaleless linear shaft motor also eliminates the need for an external encoder.
Basically, the linear shaft motor is a high-precision direct drive motor that works very precisely and is free of cogging torque. Linear servo motors work without contact. Since the coil wraps completely around the magnets, the magnetic flux density is used effectively. The air gap is not critical, in the sense that there are no changes in force.
Thanks to its cylindrical design, the linear motor generates 100% of its power in the direction of travel and at the same time dissipates moderate heat. The iron core also ensures large absorption forces between stator and coil and does not lead to any cogging torque in linear motion.
The linear servo motor does not need to be lubricated and has no power losses due to wear/aging. Its maintenance-free, long service life contributes to a lifelong cost reduction.
A spring counterweight is a critical component because the spring ages over time and requires extra attention for maintenance. With the "gLESS" you realize a contactless solution as a counterweight that can be mounted very close to the shaft motor. This creates a very compact unit for the Z-axis.
The new linear shaft motor unit maintains a constant balance at all times of the stroke
