„Arena of Integration“ – Hall 1

Motek Internationale Fachmesse für Produktions- und Montageautomatisierung csm arenaofintegration 2019 27 bea 89729ea8ab uai

The Arena of Integration (AoI) will be at the heart of the Software for Assembly exhibition area at Motek 2021. Based on the intermeshing of software and assembly technology in motion, business processes mapped by software are rendered vividly visible and tangible by means of exhibits. The AoI provides ideas and solutions – and inspires expert visitors for the implementation of digitalisation at their own companies.

Digitalisation solutions for functional business processes in assembly will be presented covering: for CAD system sales and the preparation of quotations, right on up to real-time 3D animation, from small series production based on 3D scanning and CAD processing, right on up to 3D printing in assembly operations in combination with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and digital twins of assembly systems. Where digitalised services are concerned, attention will be focused on secure Internet data transfer which will be demonstrated by means of transmission to machines in other exhibition halls. These solutions also do justice to demands for product lifecycle management (PLM). A further focal point is the presentation of open interface architectures such as OPC UA.

Participants include renowned machinery manufacturers such as ThyssenKrupp Automation Engineering and Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik with their own digitalisation solutions, as well as numerous high-tech companies who offer digitalisation solutions with exclusive features.

You can look forward to these use cases:

Digitalisation of the distribution of customised assembly technology

Together with CMC Engineers GmbH, Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG will present the necessary process steps, as well as the mode of operation of a machine for hairpin production. The quoted configuration of a hairpin machine takes place live at one station, and trade fair visitors experience a real-time 3D animation of the configured hairpin machine at another.

3D printing for the digitalisation of small series and spare parts production

Cinteg, Autodesk, Stratasys and KLIB Knut Lehmann will explore 3D printing for the digitalisation of short-run and replacement parts production at their joint exhibit: covering everything from capturing 3D geometries with a high-speed, dimensionally accurate hand-held scanner, generation of a 3D model by processing the scanned data, ongoing design and expansion within the 3D CAD system, right on up to control of the 3D printers and visualisation of the print.

Digitalisation of variant-flexible series assembly

ThyssenKrupp Automation Engineering will present an exhibit which provides an overview of the functionality of a manufacturing execution system (MES): live demonstrations with MES control of an assembly system and a digital twin of a battery assembly system controlled by the MES. Customer-specific MES demonstrations are planned in order to impart the genuine feel of MES functionality.

Digitalisation in intralogistics

Rafi illustrates digitalisation in intralogistics: it deals with production control at manual workstations based on the example of a service call system.

Campus Schwarzwald (working title “Digitalisation in Service”)

At a joint exhibit organised by Campus Schwarzwald, GPS Stuttgart, PrimeKey Labs Aachen and J. Schmalz GmbH, a use case involving software management and secure software updates will be dealt with at one station and encryption, authentication and data integrity by means of digital machine identities at another. Other stations will demonstrate edge gateways as a secure interface to the cloud, and finally a use case involving secure feedback of status data to the manufacturer.
